Film Series

Keeping It Reel!

Watching films from various perspectives allows individuals to step into the shoes of characters from different backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. This fosters empathy and understanding, helping people relate to others whose lives might be different from their own. When a community sees diverse stories on screen, it validates the experiences of different groups within that community.

Films that offer different perspectives also have the power to challenge stereotypes and misconceptions. By portraying nuanced and authentic narratives, they break down barriers and prejudices, promoting a more tolerant and accepting community.

The event will be on September 22. 2024 at the Matrix Club.  Tickets and more information are available at  https://keepingitreel2024.eventbrite.com
